Proteo was complaining that he wasn't getting selected as Thing while a lower Thing level admin was.

I've checked for any exploits that an admin could do to get Pro Opt and found none. I'm left to check whether the Pro Opt code itself works as intended.

Here's the problem: It's not simply the highest Thing points but the highest Thing points over Thing plays ratio.

I'm not sure if Probe tweaked his Thing points/plays, I just remember him being a fag about the Marine points.
If you believe that he did, please have more players back you up.

    Anyway, this concludes it.

That would explain it. My account reset once upon a time, meaning any losses/game played when I was a noob went out the window. Due to my stats only being updated to reveal my more mediocre games, I will no doubt beat you in said ratio.

As a side note, in all my time as admin I don't think I've ever changed my Thing points. I have never experienced glitches or anything... I can't remember me touching it once. (Ofc marine points -9999 an exception)

You were in the lobby when you saw how him (probe) and data were both cadets and told them to fix it.

Also, this is how Zak gets the Pro Opt everytime. His thing plays are stuck at 1 + his score means his divisible rate is higher than any of us.

    Cadets = marine = unrelated

If Zak's Thing Plays are stuck I'll attempt to adjust them in order to "unstick" them. Hopefully that will solve it. The only issue is what do I change it to? If we bump it up to 2 he will still have a HUGEEEEE advantage. We need to go over pro players and cadets and find an average rate, then give him higher than that or something.

or you could just set it to one million since he tampered with it himself.

if mafia finds a hacker they just give him all the achievements including one that says "IM A HACKER KICK ME". you can hack banks but you cant hack the achievements Wink

Yeah, especially if he will probably mess with it again.
Is there a way to give somebody an achievement that unlocks a feature in a game that you can make it prioritize over other options? Kind of like how we can't pick cadet once we get higher ranks

I hope this makes sense, im a little high

In the event that he tampered with it himself, I would have no issue settings his statistics to reflect a ratio of an above average player. Guess I'm starting my search (and asking vic).

I'm assuming because its static. You could be really good, take a break, come back and be shit, but still constantly get pro opt because there are no ways in the game for your points to go down. (Other than an involuntary reset.) Its to prevent shit players from clogging the 'good player' opting. At least that's my understanding.

Post by Probe Thu Apr 02, 2015 3:46 am

Yah, that's kind of been a want that has been around for ages. Its ridiculous how the top player can ALWAYS steal from the second top.

However, it might be better to think about a different solution before immediately adding something. What if it was pool with different rules.

For example, if the top player has 50,000 but the second top player has 500, I think that it should disregard the second top player and only account for people someone NEAR within the range of 50,000.

However, that would mean people like FRK who have 300,000 would always get it. So what about a % system?

The top player will always be entered in the pool, but so will anyone else who has 50% of their TP.

So if the top player has 50k TP, the top 2 other people who have 25k-50k would be entered.

    100k would be 50-100k, 20k would be 10-20k etc.

Just a thought. I just think a pool would be ridiculous for pro opt because everyone could have 50 TP vs an 100k guy and still get pro opt, which is supposed to be the best thing player.

That sounds retarded to me. If a full lobby is going with one guy playing that has 10k thing points and every single other person has 0 Thing points, hasn't ever played before and are thus noobs, how does that make any sense?

"Guys, lets choose pro opt so that the best player is selected to play while we learn, cuz I have no idea wtf I'm doing yet."

Perp: "Fuck you guys, one of you noobs who hasn't played before is going to suddenly be the best player in the lobby."

Although I do like fucking things, I also think that you shouldn't be able to opt in without atleast 5-10k thing points. I apologize, I look at my arguments from already altered view points. And frankly having a 0 point guy go 50% of the time is better than the one 100k point guy going 100% of the time.

I agree. I've always thought it should just pick between the top three. Maybe have it a mix of overdue/pro opt because, what if the random selections keeps on picking the same guy, like 4 games in a row now. It should be able to account for how many times you were in the top 3 and didn't get the opt. Yeah, that could cause a cadet or two to go up every now and again, but how often will that one cadet actually be in the top 3? Not enough to ruin as many games as pure random opt has. And their overdue counter will be reset once they get selected, so you wont have to fear they keep getting selected somehow.
It gives people enough games with Pro's to watch how they play/do so that when one of them finally does get selected, it might not be a total shit game.
