    The Thing should have some way of increasing or regaining its health besides killing and eating marines. What if you guys added in some wandering critters which the Thing could kill and eat to either permanently increase his base health by a small amount, or which temporarily increases his HP recovery rate?

    Actually, that would be pretty cool as an event. Like an infestation of critters in a certain room that gives the thing the opportunity to heal up. (but marines are also informed thus allowing them to defend it)
