    Yes It's a little different from the movie, but i'd like to suggest that the thing has to kill at least one person every ten minutes or they will start losing health. They don't have to be in thing form and every kill they get extends the timer by ten minutes this would allow players to actually see the thing come out more instead of having those things who wait and hour or so before coming out and then killing everyone else off who hasn't been killed by tkers.

    I see it comming, people will gather in a room and wait 10 minutes until someone tries to tk, run away or start losing health.
    I said it before and I will repeat myself, the thing in marine form MUST be 100% the same as any other marine or they will just
    exploit this weakness to spot and kill the thing

    Sounds good but with parameters like that, it would still have hour long games. With 14 people, and let's say thing killed 6 people, it's got a whole hour already with 7 left to feed on. I think it's a good idea but instead of an extension of 10 minutes per each person killed, I think a reset of 5-7 minute countdown timer would be more effective, so it would have to eat every 5-7 minutes. With ten minute extensions it could kill 3 at start, and still do nothing for nearly half an hour before it has to kill again.

    I could see the exploit with arranged lobbies. Everyone would just say meet in middle as fast as possible and wait until Thing starves however. So this idea already goes down the drain. The groups would simply wait out Thing all the time, and the gameplay would be such to an aggressive thing killing and eating all the time and it no longer becomes a game of deception and manipulation at all.

    However, I think Solid's idea is great with the Timed Self Destruction. If the thing is being retarded like breaking down all the doors and avoiding any fights, the marines can "give up" by setting of the self destruction which times to an explosion and results in a tie for both. This would end the games with Things that prolong it as much as possible until marines just give up and leave.

    yea but if your good enough or have help you could set the timer off early and if it came down to the last little bit if your the thing and you have maybe 2 marines running around alive you could still lose because they just keep running
